The keynote speaker is Cynthia Arnaldo Bonta, known for her activism in the Philippines during the Marcos dictatorship and helping organize the United Farm Workers. She is the mother of California Attorney General Rob Bonta.
Kamayan in the FieldThe summit offers a kamayan dinner of plant-based Filipino dishes. Renowned chefs from celebrated restaurants like FOB Kitchen, Abaca, Kokak Chocolates, Chef Reina, Sarah Shop and more are crafting a six-course meal, accompanied by a thoroughly curated six-beverage pairing.

The summit’s missionWhat sets this event apart isn’t just good food, it’s their mission to honor Filipino food traditions while pushing for a more sustainable future.
“LAMON” is more than just a food and wine event – it’s a holistic celebration of our Filipino food system and a call to action for sustainability,” event founder Yana Gilbuena-Babu said in a press release.
“We’re excited to shine a spotlight on the often-overlooked heroes of our industry – the farmers, growers, producers, and vintners who form the backbone of our culinary heritage.”
In true Filipino fashion, “LAMON” encourages guests to BYOB — Bring Your Own Bag and Baon (packed meal) — to cut down on single-use plastics and reduce waste.
The summit will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Southeast Community Center in Bayview, San Francisco.
